You might have already looked at Pardon You Not and noticed that he isn't a horse for everyone. This mare is the other rescue horse available for adoption this month, and I believe there will be no huge issues on re-homing her. Or at least I hope. PROJECT GUARDIAN ANGELS: [link] Read carefully if you are interested in giving this mare a new home. --- Info Name: Akasha Called: Akasha or Sasha Age: estimated at 6 years Sex: mare Breed: mustang Height: 14.3 hh Colouration: Buckskin, pastern (left hind leg), snip Genetics: EE/AA/nCr Bloodlines: N/A - starter Discipline: none, untamed Temperament: Akasha is a very shy mare, mostly because she has never had positive human contact in her life before now. She has very strong will and she has shown marks of great determination and ability to focus. She is also very intelligent and a quick learner, proven to have a lot of both speed and stamina. She gets very nervous if there aren't other horses around, and doesn't relax enough to eat if people are present after her food is served. She has a scar in her neck, where the rope rubbed away the skin while she was captured and trying to break free. It might take quite a long time for the scar to fully heal. Background: After Kishmet had been handed to a new, loving home, miss Grimhound had received tons of calls, people asking when would next rescue horses arrive and wanting to get the details on them and so on. When the phone rang again and miss Grimhound came running into her office, she was expecting to politely answer a lot of questions. She was almost feeling like an automat already, answering all the frequently asked questions like a robot. The agitated voice of a young woman caught her attention as soon as she had said her first words, and miss Grimhound was all ears. The woman in the phone told her that she had a wild horse re-homing center, and some cowboys had dragged a very skinny, perfectly wild young mustang mare there. She had no means to help her, and she had heard miss Grimhound took horses like this to her stables for no money at all, all expenses paid for the horses until they found new homes. Miss Grimhound said this information to be accurate, and could already hear relief in the woman's tone. Before making further arrangements, miss Grimhound asked to hear the whole story. And so the woman told: Akasha was born to a relatively large mustang herd, and few horses at a time it was cut down. The mustangs grazed the grass, leaving nothing to eat for cattle. So one farmer took his car, having strongly tied a lasso to a concrete pole. He chased the heard and was able to separate one of the horses, a buckskin mare. He chased her until she got a little tired, throwing the lasso at her neck. The horse was pulled into a full stop when the pole hit the ground, and it was a miracle she didn't break her neck. The farmer didn't retrieve the mare, but left her there and headed to see if he could still catch up with the herd again. Poor mare was left there with no water and a little food, because the grass was soon stamped down into mud when the horse tried to break free in huge panic. Two cowboys, retrieving lost calves, found her a few days later, standing there with her head held low. They detached the rope from the pole and tied it into their saddles. The mare stumbled, but followed them without putting up too much of a fight. The cowboys took her to the nearest re-homing center and left her there, only quickly explaining the situation. Akasha can only thank her luck and the kind hearts of those cowboys to be alive. After hearing this story miss Grimhound was maddened by the inhumane ways to catch the poor horse, but agreed to import the mare to ZGS and find a new home for her.
