Edit: I didn't win her, see her here: [link] I've been slaving over this picture ever since I first saw the yearling auction... I didn't count how many times I changed / altered the lineart when I wasn't fully satisfied with it. But now I must say I've tried my best with the picture. The shading slightly destroyed my huge efforts to get her flat coat color down exactly as it is shown in her auction picture. Oh well. I WANT THIS FILLY. Mokay? Ok, I know I might not get her but I am still trying my very best. I don't have very excessive breeding program for thoroughbreds and I'm not the person who knows everything about racing, but I am moving ZGS a lot towards breeding and racing thoroughbreds in the future and I believe Dreamcathcer would make a wonderful mare to start with. My first racing prospect bred at ZGS is on her way, from Sky Touched and World's Savior, who is one of my favourite thoroughbreds around dA at the moment. Anyway, if I'd get Dreamcatcher I would show her training progress and racing a lot, you'd get to follow it up like I've done with Sky Touched. Of course Sky Touched is a whole different story from Dreamcatcher, but what I mean is I would show a lot of pictures of her training and growing up and so. I'm very interesting to learn more and more about racing, I've been doing research, and also the natural genetics fascinate me and I've been studying them as well, all the time. And I think I posess very good basic knowlege, and I'm always looking to learn even more. She is from *thunderjam1992's rescue yearling auction, see here: [link] You can see Dreamcatcher in her original glory here: [link] and find her story here: [link] Miss Grimhound left ZGS very early with their trainer Beni Ren to catch their flight to USA. Miss Grimhound had read about BCC holding an auction, handing out rescued yearlings. First of all, rescuing horses was very close to miss Grimhound's heart, she had also put up her own horse rescue project Guardian Angels. Now that Sky Touched had filled up she had more time in her hands, and a thought of a thoroughbred yearling, possibly able to be raced, held her interest tightly. She had wanted to convert ZGS for breeding and racing thoroughbreds, as natural breed of course. She had studied a lot about it, and she did have a few unnatural racers in ZGS's other section. She knew there would be a lot of gorgeous stallions that would be open for coverings, and she could start her own breeding program and study thoroughbred genetics even more. Yes, she was hoping for a good mare, but of course she could change her mind if she saw a very promising colt out there. When miss Grimhound and Beni arrived at BCC, they were both very anxious to see all the yearlings. They were taken outside for the auctioners to have a better look at them. Miss Grimhound could hardly not to bounce out of excitement. Gorgeous yearlings after yearlings marched outside the stables, but what took miss Grimhound's interest the instant she saw it, was the gray filly with spots that reminded a little of bird catcher spots. She was chewing on her lead rope and the stable hand trying to walk her seemed a little frustrated while the young mare looked around looking curious, still chewing on the lead rope. Miss Grimhound went closer, and Beni could already see this young mare had stolen the woman's heart. It was easy to tell from the way miss Grimhound looked at the cute little yearling. They followed the yearlings while they were walked around, but miss Grimhound couldn't concentrate on the other yearlings. She knew she wanted the one named Dreamcatcher. And after the yearlings were taken back inside, she headed to make her bid, keeping her fingers crossed. --- Bio (by *thunderjam1992) Name: Dreamcatcher Barn Name: Dream-face, The Nibbler Gender: Filly Height: 15.2hh (projected 16 1/2 hh--she has yet to hit a serious growth spurt, so we suspect she is a late bloomer) Color: Gray, Blood bay base (will gray out as she ages) Eyes: Brown Markings: Star, strange gray spots (we suspect they might be the ever-puzzling Birdcatcher spots, but we haven't had her long enough to be sure. It is possible they are just random sections that have grayed out earlier than the rest of her body.) Breed: Thoroughbred Bloodlines: Starter Discipline: none (we have racing in mind for her, but if doesn't fit her we'll figure out something else) Genes: Aa/Ee/Gg (foals may or may not gray out) Stables: Black Creek Crossing Stables Temperment: She loves people and small mammals fascinate her. When left to her own devices, she chews on things--not cribbing, or biting. Just... chewing. Stall doors, halters, fingers, other yearlings' tails; nothing is sacred where The Nibbler is concerned.
