Irritation

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 4, 2009, 4:13 AM

Argh and blah

Seriously, I am really sick and tired with people not reading what I write. Like in my stable journals it says _clearly_ to send notes and provide links to your horses you wish to breed to mine... And yet I get those comments all the time, like "can I breed X to your Y", without even links. It helps if links are provided, doesn't irritate me that much. And I absolutely hate if these things come to my front page. It is very hard for me to organize things if they are all over the place.

Sometimes if a person asks for a breeding very politely in a note, explaining stuff, providing links... I will almost 100 % accept the breeding even if it is said in my stable journal that I don't accept certain breeds or colours for a horse. And even if I say no I will say it politely and explain why. And I really hate texts full of typing errors and the sort of language people would write for each other in msn or something... I do not speak English as my first language and it is very hard for me to understand that sort of language. I prefer the sort of language that could be written in books and so on. Of course I don't expect anyone to know English perfectly - heck, I don't know it that well myself. But the effort is what counts in my eyes. Don't get my wrong, I don't mind what sort of stuff you write into your journals, but I don't like getting notes about breedings written in that style. It makes me feel the person is very child and not trustworthy with my horses and their offspring.

And I also hate that people don't necessarily actually read the stallion's or mare's passable traits or anything else on that matter. I just really would like to hug and glomp everybody who does pay attention to that stuff. I do not write that stuff just to amuse myself.

Just needed to rant because I am bored and a little bit moody and cranky at the moment.

Some people just see the horse or see that the horse is popular and want a breeding. They don't care about anything else and those are normally the people that have about a million different horses that they never draw. I love what you write about your horses most of the time, other people should try to read it too. And when people type in "ChatSpeak" it is so annoying! It's almost like they don't know how to turn off the Text Mode.

O.0 I hadn't realized "finland" ... You write beautiful English, and make a LOT of american kids put to shame because they can't seem to take their own language seriously.

Rules are good. I try to read everyone's, I use a lot of stock so I have seen different rules, always making sure is a good policy.

As Enlish being my first (and only xD) language, I must say I was shocked when I found out it wasn't yours. You surpass many of the Americans here, which is shameful and embarressing to say. Our country is highly lazy, and I get sick of seeing people here write and even TALK in "textspeak." Don't they see it only makes a fool out of them? It's disgusting.

I don't get many breeding requests as I'm sure you do, but I understand what you mean. People just don't read. They just don't care. I spend hours creating a horse description and gentics plus traits, but I fear they are not even looked at. I have begun to refuse any requests that are not done by note. It's just too difficult to keep up with, and clealy says "well, I didn't read your rules, but cAn I Haz bReAdiNgz?!one11"

I agree with you 100%. And I hope in the future that more people will read what you have written and will abide by your rules. Thank you so much for letting me breed my horses to your beautiful equines! I also hope that people will learn how to write in full sentences. I'm not a big fan of abbreviated notes and textspeak. It's awful because my dad does that to me all the time. It's kind of scary because he's my dad.... and he's much less into the technology than I am.

I'd listen and use formal language and would be REALLY polite if I wanted to breed :D But I don't breed... I don't have any horses... But I'm still polite!
People like that are annoying, sometimes when I really want to blurt it out and type like a maniac I will shorten words and such to fit my speed X3 But I'm a grammar freak and hate when people don't use capital i's when saying 'I' :XD:

I really want to learn German actually, I always say this to my parents but they just say, "Thats a really hard language to learn, are you sure?" and then I feel disappointed with myself... but now that exams and the stress is over I'll have much more free time to do my own things :D
Getting to the point, is there any way I could learn German without taking classes in school and teaching myself? or is that too hard? coz I want to try and speak fluently... Maybe I'm expecting too much of myself right now :P

Lol, yeah Finnish is very different from any language and has very complex grammar and all that stuff, so English isn't really that hard for me. I have been studying it seven years now. (it is compulsory here in Finland)

I try to read all rules too, and I always ask if I am not sure. It is always good way to avoid any conflicts and irritating people. I understand someone can sometimes miss one point or something, but some people just continuosly ignore everything.

That is true. I do have very many horses, but I love them all and will start drawing them more now that I am slowing all my breedings down a bit. I don't like it when people just "collect" HARPG horses, some don't even have those bios for their horses.

Yeah it is annoying and hard to understand. I have learned quite a lot since I came to dA, but it still does irritate me. I am glad people agree with me

Well I am honoured you think I am that good in English. I am sort of quite good with languages, maybe because Finnish is world's top three hardest language, or so I've heard. Of course we have Finnish textspeak too, but people hate it so much here they normally point out very clearly not to speak or write that way with them. It does make a fool out of them and is nothing like "cool".

That is true, and it is very frustrating. I don't understand how it can be so hard just to read through some pages in order to respect all the work that was put into everything that was written or designed or what ever. I normally refuse those breedings too, or at least point out that they need to send a note before I even consider. And still I get the notes without the links. Like "can I please breed my X to your Y?" like they expect me to either know all their horses or to go through the whole darn gallery. I admit I watch way too little people, but some people I haven't even ever heard of.

I guess as long as there are people there will be these issues, but I am still glad there are people who pay attention :glomp:

I hope so too, and hey, no problem.

That is a bit worrying, I must admit. My dad doesn't really even know how to use his cellphone fully, let alone use his computer. One day he called my brother and asked how he can get the gap between the lines in Word, and my brother was like "use enter?" I am glad my parents won't use any sort of textspeak, and neither do my friends.
